CIA on board for the success of the International Airshow

Event: Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition
Venue: staged at Avalon Airport, Geelong, Victoria
Dates: 24 Feb – 1 Mar 2015

With the Asia Pacific region undergoing major growth in defence and aviation the Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition is an important event in showcasing the latest sophistication in technologies, equipment, systems and operational methods.

CIA Services Group were engaged by the organisers as the official cleaners to provide a high level of cleaning and customer service to the three huge expo pavilions, the main entrance complex, the conference and media centre, and the 40 plus VIP entertaining marquees and courtyards.

It has been reported that deals worth an estimated $1 billion were done during the four trade days and that is expected to inject an estimated $20 million into the Geelong region’s economy, which is great news for the local community.
CIA staff were on hand to provide pre-event cleaning during the five day bump in and then for the bump out, as well as for the duration of the Airshow, providing scheduled and reactive cleaning to the general areas as well as exhibitors’ spaces.

Organisers have stated that the 14th Airshow ranked as the best with large numbers turning out to look at the show’s spectacular showcase in the air and on the ground, saluting the Anzac centenary theme of Heroes of the Sky. The Geelong Advertiser reported that Aerospace Chief executive Ian Honnery said “We had a record number of conferences and seminars in conjunction with the event, at least a couple of thousand delegates to those conferences, we had well over 100 delegations attend the trade show itself and there was a buzz, in my view, on the exhibition floor in the pavilions during the trade days that I haven’t seen before.
“I’ve been around this business for a fair while, in terms of the industry benefits and promoting the profile of Australian industry internationally, I think this was our best event ever.”

CIA congratulate the organisers and onsite team for the outstanding work they have done in presenting a world class event. It is a huge logistical and organisational undertaking erecting, building and delivering all the components that make up the Avalon Airshow on what are basically the empty fields of an airport.

Working closely with the Infrastructure and Exhibition Managers to deliver a seamless operation for our first Airshow we were delighted with the Manager of Exhibition Operations, Ebony McDonald’s comments, “We could not be happier with the service CIA provided. The whole team were fantastic to work with, always accessible and highly professional. Nothing was ever too much hassle and any member of the staff would happily undertake any tasks asked of them by an Organiser or an Exhibitor. This was our most successful Airshow to date.
